The Vishnu Coin Buttons held in hand-drawn 18K rose gold wires feature rare and collectible, certified high-karatage gold coins minted during the Dutch-India occupation in the 1700s.
The buttons feature antique gold coins minted in Nagapatnam in the mid 1700s by the Dutch for Southern India trade. Modeled on the local coinages, these coins feature a front-facing standing impression of Vishnu. The Vishnu coins – which feature granulation on the backside – are wrapped in hand-drawn 18K rose gold wires. The blackened effect lends a deep dark black tone, which will rub off over time giving it a sensibility of a patina.
The set of 4 can be worn as tuxedo buttons or kurta buttons. They can also be worn reversed. A single button can be worn on the lapel.
