Swayambhu is a Sanskrit word. It means self-born, self-existing, self-manifested – something that is created by its own accord.
Rotten, discarded pieces of wood are elevated by the simple act of picking them up. The works are created instinctively, as a reaction to the found pieces of wood – their form and texture. This instinctive design extends to the free-form diamonds, which have been specially-cut by following the natural grains and character of the rough diamonds. The gold has been sculpted as an extension of the wood – giving it weight, structure, and strength.
Each Studio Renn piece is handcrafted. As a result, carat and gold weights may vary slightly from one edition to the next.
